Built-in skill
Web Search
Knowledgev0.1.0Let an agent search the web and read pages with the native web_search / web_fetch tools. Multiple engines sit behind one surface — DuckDuckGo (basic, no key) plus Brave, Google CSE, SerpAPI, Exa, Tavily, Parallel, and a self-hosted SearXNG when configured. The owner selects ONE active engine (DuckDuckGo by default) in AI Search Tools. Web search is a per-agent skill: assign it to the agents that should have it (the Executive Assistant always does).

Grant model
How granting works
A skill is a permission you hand to an agent — not a silent preload.
- 1Pick it in SkillsAll 24 built-in skills live in one list. Web Search is there on day one — nothing to install.
- 2Grant it per agentA skill is a permission, not a preload. Each agent only carries the skills you've granted it, and you can take one back any time.
- 3It reaches only what's declaredThis one declares no access at all — the ledger below is the receipt.
What the agent is told
Search the web and read pages with the web_search / web_fetch tools.
Engines
Every search provider behind one skill
The owner picks ONE active engine in AI Search Tools. DuckDuckGo is the zero-config default; connect a key for production indexes. The list is the same catalogue the kernel dispatches.
Active engine
Tap a connected engine to make it active — same rule as the app.
One active engine
Explicit choice — never silent auto-switch by credential.
Your keys, your quota
BYO keys for Brave, Google CSE, Exa, Tavily, and more.
SSRF-strict fetch
web_fetch is sandboxed so the agent browses safely.
Preview mirrors AI Search Tools — brand marks + active rail
Free default
DuckDuckGo (basic)
DefaultZero-config default. Scrapes DDG’s no-JS results — works with no key, can break if markup drifts.
Connect when you want more
Brave Search
RecommendedPrivate, independent index — not a Google/Bing reseller, no profiling.
Google Custom Search
RecommendedGoogle results via a Programmable Search Engine. Needs both an API key and the engine id (cx).
SerpAPI
RecommendedMulti-engine search aggregator (Google-backed). Metered per search.
Exa
RecommendedNeural search with inline content extraction — highly token-efficient for agents.
Tavily
RecommendedAgent-tuned search with topic + depth filters. Metered per search.
Parallel
RecommendedDense, LLM-optimised excerpts per source. Paid API.
SearXNG (self-hosted)
Your own SearXNG instance. The base URL is the credential — trust ack required.
Grok (xAI)
RecommendedAnswer-native: xAI returns a written answer with citations, not a link list. Uses your xAI key.
Tools the skill exposes

Weather
Current conditions + a multi-day forecast for any place or your current location, shown as a shareable weather card. Multiple providers sit behind one surface — free Open-Meteo (no key) by default, or your own OpenWeather key when connected in Weather Providers — auto-picked by whichever key is set. Weather is a per-agent skill: assign it to the agents that should have it (the Executive Assistant always does).
